  • LANLine Tech Forum "Cabling / Networks / Infrastructure" 2016, Munich

From February 3-4, 2016, GHMT AG presented itself together with other renowned companies from the IT infrastructure industry at the LANLine Tech Forum "Cabling / Networks / Infrastructure " in Munich.

Bernd Jung, a specialist at GHMT AG, introduced a newly developed test adaptation to a full house in his presentation entitled "40 Gbit over copper cabling systems - the latest challenges in terms of test equipment". This new test adaptation uses differential metrology to facilitate the measurement and evaluation of balanced cabling components and systems up to 2.5 GHz with maximum precision. This already allows for the testing and evaluating of Cat. 8.1 & 8.2 horizontal cabling, Cat. 8.2 connectors and class I & II channels for 40 Gbit applications in GHMT's certified test laboratory. Currently, the test equipment used for evaluating Cat. 8.1 connectors is being laid down in a standard and GHMT has already specified, developed and implemented a test set-up in this regard.

The presentation went down very well with both manufacturers and end users alike. Also during the various conversations at the GHMT AG stand, which offered an interesting and helpful information platform for a large number of visitors, the test adaptation was a popular topic, given that it facilitates reproducible tests and evaluation with a maximum level of precision in a certified test laboratory, even in the high frequency range of up to 2.5 GHz.

We would like to thank all those involved in this successful event and look forward to welcoming you to the next LANline Tech Forum 2016 in Essen from September 6 - 7, 2016.
