  • GHMT at techForum Munich on February 4-5, 2025 – Expert Presentation on the Future Viability of Passive IT Infrastructures

In 2025, GHMT was once again present at techForum Munich with its own exhibition stand and set important benchmarks with an innovative expert presentation on "Future Viability of Passive IT Infrastructures – Evaluating Existing and New Infrastructures, Challenges & Perspectives."

Passive cabling components, including fiber optic data cables, connectors, and distribution components, are important parts of networks and play a crucial role in determining their performance.
The presentation examined the long-term performance, flexibility, and scalability of network topologies and their passive IT infrastructures, which are decisive factors in selecting IT systems for data centers and campus net-works.

A key focus was placed on assessing the future viability of existing IT infrastructures and their adaptability to technological developments. Increasing bandwidth requirements, the integration of new transmission technologies, and evolving network topologies pose major challenges for companies.

Finally, it was emphasized that the future viability of passive IT infrastructures lies in balancing technological in-novation with ecological responsibility. Only sustainable and high-performance solutions can successfully meet the continuously growing demands of digital transformation.

The subsequent discussions and expert talks at the GHMT booth, highlighted the increasing demand for industry-optimized broadband solutions—both in Germany and internationally. Topics such as symmetrical network expansion with equal bandwidth for download and upload, redundant connections for critical infrastructures, and the definition of quality standards for fiber optic cables and distribution components were key points of discus-sion. Additionally, acceptance criteria, testing procedures, and performance evaluations gained more focus. GHMT underlined its active role in developing forward-thinking quality standards and evaluation methods.

TechForum Munich 2025 thus provided not only a platform for professional exchange on the challenges and opportunities of industrial broadband expansion but also an opportunity to showcase the latest developments in GHMT’s service portfolio.
With a successful trade fair presence and a strong expert presentation, GHMT once again set industry standards.
